Assessment of Foster Carers
•To provide guidance to staff on the process for assessment of foster carers, kinship carers and short break carers •To ensure that applicants are assessed and approved in accordance with best practice •To ensure that there is an adequate number of suitable foster carers to provide safe care and to meet the assessed needs (including religion, ethnicity, language and culture) of Guernsey and Alderney children in need of foster placements •To ensure that prospective foster carers are treated fairly, openly and with respect throughout the assessment process
