Interagency Adoption Placements
The fostering and adoption team will recruit sufficient adopters to meet the needs of the children waiting locally for placement. There may, however, be occasions when an inter-agency placement is necessary either as a positive choice because of the particular needs of the child, risk factors or as a matter of necessity to avoid undue delay in making a placement. Financial authorisation to seek an interagency placement must always be obtained prior to negotiations with another agency. The Department accepts the financial conditions of making a placement with a family approved by another agency. The Department may, at times, offer approved adopters to be used by other agencies with children to place.
